Heritage Acres Audio Tour
This is a free self guided tour of our buildings and museums, it takes about 90 minutes for the complete tour, or you can just listen to the features that interest you.
There are twelve QR code stations, starting at the large map at the corner of Museum Avenue.
To hear the narrative, just point your cell phone camera at the QR code and click on the link . Try it out now using the QR code shown here.
You will hear the history of the buildings and many of our museum artifacts and narrative about some of the colorful characters and events that have shaped Vancouver Island history.
The Bandshell
Heritage Acres has added a new building attraction to our Village Square.
We are actively seeking bookings for summer musical events at this location which provides space for up to 200 people, with parking available on site and catering using our BC Foodsafe approved kitchen, or by food trucks.
We are able to accommodate daytime and evening events within local bylaw noise constraints.

New Saanich Police Historical Display
There is a new display in the Michell building featuring historical artifacts and pictures of early Saanich peninsular policing. It also features a mugshot booth - perfect for entertaining small children! so bring your cell phones.

Fitting a metal tire to a wooden Wagon Wheel
On January 4th 2023 we used a traditional method to heat shrink a new metal tire onto a large wooden wheel off our 1900 water wagon. See a short video here:
